I debated posting this because it is certainly not my role to call anyone out. I do not want to step on toes or speak out of turn. But, I thought I would take a minute and share my thoughts. I am a fairly new YM's President and the last time I was involved with the youth, I was one. I am eager to learn and I am fully dedicated to the calling. I have checked this blog every week since being called. I have been disappointed, however, to find that hardly anyone ever posts anything other than our stake leaders. I think this blog is a great idea and I, for one, would love to see more posts. I would love, for example, to tap into the great ideas that I know many of you have as leaders in your wards. - Ideas about teaching; ideas about scout camps, ideas about building unity; ideas about awesome campfire programs; ideas about building relationships with the boys etc. I just want to put in a plug for this blog. I would love to access the knowledge of the many young men leaders in this stake, and this blog is a potentially great way to do that. Again, sorry if I am speaking out of turn. I am not chastising as much as I am hoping to learn from all of you.
Thanks, Rick Biesinger (Foothills)
Thanks Rick! We do have great YM leaders in our stake and the intent of the blog is to collaborate, share ideas, and help one another. I believe as you ask specific questions, you'll find that others will respond.

My mind has been on summer camp lately. I would like some ideas any of you have about how to have an early morning (sunrise) ceremony. Perhaps a hike to a cool spot, with a spiritual lesson. I recognize that some of that is location-dependent, but in general, any ideas you have would be great.
